Poetry in the pub

Once a month, several local residents get together in the pub and read poetry, short stories and other 'pieces' to each other. Mostly they are inspired by the area of Winchester in which we live - Hyde - but they don't have to be - and mostly they are on a pre-decided theme. Tonight was Science Fiction. I thought it would be a thin night with not much read. Instead this small corner of historic Winchester inspired an amazing range of work. Tonight I was one of the silent listeners. Next month's theme is 'Back to School'. I wonder what will result?
